चार पेनाल्टी, चौध गोल

काठमाडौ, वैशाख १४ - एकै दिन चार पेनाल्टी र १४ गोलसँगै सहिद स्मारक 'ए' डिभिजन लिगमा सोमबार सयौं खेल पूरा भएको छ । एक खेल र एक दिनमा सर्वाधिक गोलको नयाँ कीर्तिमान बनाउने क्रममा एनआरटीले एपीएफलाई ५-३ ले हरायो भने मनाङमस्र्याङदी र फ्रेन्ड्सले ३-३ को नतिजा निकाले ।

सुरुआती १३ मिनेटमै ३-० ले अघि रहेको एनआरटीको जितमा डेनिस स्ट्राइकर सयन मोसाभी नायक रहे । लोभलाग्दा तीन गोल गरेर थ्रीस्टारका सन्तोष साहखुलपछि लिगमा दोस्रो ह्याटि्रक गर्ने खेलाडी बने । लिगका सय खेलमा २ दशमलव ५२ को औसतमा जम्मा २ सय ५२ गोल भएको छ । एनआरटीले गरेको २८ मध्ये १३ गोल मोसाभीको नाममा रह्यो । सर्वाधिक गोलकर्ताको सूचीमा १५ गोल गरेका थ्रीस्टारका सन्तोष शीर्षस्थानमा छन् ।

नवीन न्यौपानेको पासमा उनले पाचौं मिनेटमै गोलको खाता खोले । कर्नरमा प्राप्त अवसर सदुपयोग गर्दै नवौं मिनेटमा दोस्रो गोल गरेका उनले त्यसपछि ह्याटि्रक गर्न ६१ मिनेट कुर्नुपर्‍यो । सटिक प्रहार गर्न खप्पिस मोसाभीले एकल प्रयासमा उत्कृष्ट रूपमा बललाई पोष्टको दिशा दिई ७२ औं मिनेटमा लिगको दोस्रो ह्याटि्रक पूरा गरेका थिए ।

पहिलो चरणमा शीर्षस्थानमा रहेको एनआरटीको जितमा रञ्जित श्रेष्ठ र जीवन सिन्केमानले पनि गोल गरे । तेह्रौं मिनेटमा दर्शनीय डाइभिङ हेड गर्दै रञ्जितले लिगमा पाँचौं गोल पूरा गरे । जीवनले ४५ औं मिनेटमा बललाई जाली चुमाएर एनआरटीलाई पहिलो हाफमा ४-१ ले अघि बढाएका थिए ।

नवीन न्यौपानेको फलमा पाएको पेनाल्टीलाई ३१ औं मिनेटमा गणेश लावती चुकेनन् । सर्वाधिक गोलकर्तामा तेस्रोका गणेशको यो नवौं गोल हो । दोस्रो हाफमा दुर्गाराज लावत र टोप विष्टले एक-एक गोल गरे पनि रेलिगेसन टार्ने एपीएफको योजनामा एनआरटीसँग अंक खोस्न सकेन ।

पाँच खेलबाट १२ अंक जोडेको विभागीय टिम पुच्छरबाट तेस्रो स्थानमा छ । लिगमा अन्तिमका दुई टिम रेलिगेसनमा पर्ने छन् । जितसँगै ३४ अंक जोडेर एनआरटी दोस्रो स्थानमा उक्लिएर उपाधि होडलाई कायमै राख्यो । एक खेल कम खेलेको पुलिस ३८ अंकमा शीर्षस्थानमा

रहेको छ ।

मनाङमस्र्याङदीले अंक बाँडेको खेलमा ६ गोल भए पनि खलाडीको प्रदर्शन निराशाजनक रह्यो । दुवै टिमले स्टारलाई आराम दिएर नयाँ खेलाडीलाई अवसर दिएका थिए ।

तीन गोल पेनाल्टिमा सम्भव भयो । त्यसमा फ्रेन्ड्सले दुई र मनाङमस्र्याङदीले एक पेनाल्टी अवसर उपयोग गरे । दुईपल्ट पछि परेको स्थिति उल्टाएको फ्रेन्ड्सको लागि राजन अधिकारी, नूरराज काफ्ले र सन्तोष तामाङले गोल गरे । सुजन लिम्बू, शिव श्रेष्ठ र गणेश खडिको गोलमा मनाङमस्र्याङदीले एक अंक थपे ।

क्रिकेटरसँग नजिकिए नायिकाहरू

क्रिकेटरहरू बलिउडका नायिकाहरूसँग नजिकिनु नौलो विषय होइन, तर ताजा जानकारीअनुसार पछिल्लो पटक बलिउडका चारजना नायिका क्रिकेटरहरूसँग 'डेटिङ' गैरहेका छन् ।

समिरा रेड्डी र इशान्त शर्मा ः गत वर्षको आईपीएल म्याचदेखि भारतीय क्रिकेट टिमका राइट आर्म फास्ट बलर इशान्त शर्माको व्यक्तित्वबाट प्रभावित नायिका समिरा रेड्डी उनीसँग प्रेम गर्न थालेकी छिन् । समाचारमा जनाएअनुरूप आइपीएलको म्याचबाट फुर्सद मिलाएर यी दुई 'डेटिङ' जान्थे । समिराले भने उक्त समाचारलाई गलत बताइरहेकी छिन् ।

श्रीया शरण र श्रीसन्थ ः 'तुझे मेरो कसम', 'थोडा तुम बदलो थोडा हम', 'शुक्रिया', 'आवारापन', 'मिशन इस्तानबुल', 'एक' जस्ता हिन्दी चलचित्र तथा दर्जनौं दक्षिण भारतीय चलचित्रकी नायिका श्रीया शरणको भारतीय क्रिकेटर श्रीसन्थसँग प्रेम सम्बन्ध रहेको चर्चा छ । यद्यपि एउटा क्रिकेट कार्यक्रममा बलिउड नायिका मिनिषा लाम्बाले श्रीसन्थलाई चुम्बन गरेपछि मानिसहरूले श्रीसन्थप्रति शंका गर्न थालेका छन् ।

विद्या बालन र जाहिर खान ः पछिल्लो खबरअनुसार भारतीय क्रिकेटका फास्ट बलर जाहिर खानसँग विद्या बालनको अफेयर चलिरहेको छ । ट्वेन्टी-ट्वेन्टी म्याच प्रत्यक्ष हेरेपछि जाहिरको डाइहार्ट फ्यान भएकी विद्याले त्यसपछि भनिन्- 'जाहिर इज द हटेस्ट क्रिकेटर अन द ब्लक ।' विद्याले उनलाई मन पराए पनि जाहिरको प्रेम भने 'लक बाइ चान्स' की नायिका इशा सर्वानीसँग छ ।

अमृता अरोरा र उस्मान अफजल ः लन्डन बसिरहेका पाकिस्तानी क्रिकेट टिमका लेफ्ट ह्यान्ड बलर उस्मान अफजलको बलिउडकी नायिका अमृता अरोरासँगको प्रेमका किस्सा निकै सुनिन्छ । उनीहरूबीच सम्बन्ध टुक्रिएको हल्ला चले पनि अमृता बेलाबखत उस्मानलाई भेट्न लन्डन गैरहन्छिन् । अमृताले पनि उनीहरूको ब्रेकअपको हल्ला गलत भएको बताएकीले उनीहरू अझैं प्रेममै रहेको प्रमाणित भएको छ ।

दीपिका र युवराज ः दीपिका पादुकोण रणवीर कपुरबाट अलग भएपछि एक्लो भइन् । भारतीय क्रिकेटका चर्चित खेलाडी युवराजसिंह पनि प्रीति जिन्टासँग सम्बन्ध तोडेपछि एक्ला थिए । त्यसैले दीपिका र युवराज 'डेटिङ' जान थाले । फेरि उनीहरूको सम्बन्धमा चिसो पस्यो । उनीहरू अलग भए । पछिल्लो खबरअनुसार वर्ष २००९ मा टुक्रिएको युवराज र दीपिकाको सम्बन्ध वर्ष २०१० मा फेरि जोडिँदैछ ।

अन्तर्वाता--गलत बाटोमा लाने सबै कुरा छाड्ने प्रयासमा छु

सन् १९९७ अघि झरना बज्राचार्य आमकिशोरीझैं एउटी चुलबुले केटी मात्र थिइन्। त्यसै वर्ष भएको मिस नेपाल प्रतियोगिताले उनलाई मिस वल्र्डमा भाग लिने बाटो खोलिदियो। त्यसपछि उनी अचानक ग्ल्यामरको संसारमा प्रवेश गरिन्। त्यसयताका १२ वर्षमा झरनाले २८ वटा नेपाली चलचित्रमा काम गरिन्। ५० भन्दा बढी म्युजिक खेलिन् भने मोडलिङको अनुभव पनि लिइन्। तीन वर्षअघि हिन्दी चलचित्र ँलभ इन नेपाल’ मा काम गरेपछि झरना बलिउड चलचित्र उद्योगमा संघर्ष गर्न मुम्बई पुगिन्। अढाई वर्ष मुम्बई बसे पनि उनको कुनै विशेष काम देखिएन। बरु अचानक एक जना युरोपियन युवकसँग इंगेजमेन्ट भएको खबरले महत्व पायो। इंगेजमेन्ट भएको एक वर्ष बित्न लाग्दा पनि झरनाको विवाह भने भएको छैन। बरु अहिले उनी बौद्ध भिक्षुणी हुन लागेको खबरले बजार तातेको छ। १२ वर्षमा खोलो र्फकन्छ भन्ने उखान उनको जीवनमा मेल खाएको हो ? साप्ताहिकले यसपटक झरनासँग जीवनका आरोह-अवरोहका विषयमा कुरा गर्ने मुड बनायो। काठमाडौंको सीतापाइलाबाट २ किलोमिटर पश्चिम एकान्तवासमा रहेकी झरनालाई भेट्दा उनी फेरी १२ वर्षअघिकै साधारण युवतीको भेषमा भेटिइन्।



अनुहार, पहिरन र वरपरको वातावरण सबैले तपाईं एउटी ग्रामीण युवतीझैं देखिनुभएको छ, एउटी ग्ल्यामरस हिरोइनको कुनै चिह्न देखिँदैन नि ?

हिरोइन झरना बज्राचार्य स्त्रिmप्टकी कलाकार हो । उसले त्यहाँ त्यही रूपमा देखिनुपर्छ । मानिसको कल्पनामा पनि त्यही छवि छ, तर म यतिखेर आफ्नो घरमा छु । यो पारिवारिक रूप हो ।

बजारमा तपाईं बौद्ध भिक्षुणी हुन लागेको हल्ल्ाा छ, यो सादगी त्यसैको अभ्यास हो ?

म भिक्षुणी हुन लागेकी होइन । न त त्यसको अभ्यास नै गरिरहेकी छु । ध्यानी, ज्ञानी एव्ां जीवन बुझ्ने प्रयास गर्नु भिक्षुणी हुन खोज्नु होइन । म बेला-बेलामा विपश्यना ध्यानमा जान्छु । त्यहाँ सिकेका कुरा घरमा लागू गर्ने प्रयास गरिरहेकी छु । सबैभन्दा ठूलो कुरा म आफूलाई चिन्ने प्रयास गरिरहेकी छु ।

तपाईं झरना बज्राचार्य, यसमा चिन्न बाँकी के छ र ?

म केही वर्षअघिसम्म अनजान जीवन बाँचिरहेकी रहेछु । चलचित्रमा देखिनु, मानिसले राम्रो भन्नु, अबेरसम्म पार्टीमा रम्नु, रमाइलो गर्नु नै जीवन हो भन्ने लाग्थ्यो । महत्त्वाकांक्षा पाल्नु र त्यहाँ पुग्नु नै मेरो लक्ष्य थियो । त्यसका लागि म जस्तोसुकै दुःख झेल्न तयार थिएँ ।

एउटी साधारण युवतीमा कुन बेलादेखि महत्त्वाकांक्षा पलाउँदो रहेछ ?

सामान्यतः अरूले बढी आशा राखिदिँदा मानिस महत्त्वाकांक्षी हुँदो रहेछ । मेरो हकमा के भयो भने म मिस नेपाल भएँ । त्यसैबेला नेपालको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै मिस वल्र्डमा भाग लिनुपर्ने भयो । प्रेसले एकैपटक मिस वल्र्ड नेपालका रूपमा मलाई यति हाइलाइट गरिदिए कि म पुरानो झरना रहिनँ । सबैले झरनाले केही गर्नुपर्छ, नेपालको नाम राख्नुपर्छ भन्ने आशा गर्न थाले । म अरूका लागि बाँच्न थालें, अरूका लागि नै काम गर्न थालें । सँगै नाम र दाम पनि आउन थाल्यो । यसले मलाई अझ महत्त्वाकांक्षी बनायो । त्यसपछि स्कुलका साथीहरूस ँगको सम्बन्ध टाढियो । मिटिङमा जाने, पार्टी ज्वाइन गर्ने, बाहिर लञ्च गर्ने, विभिन्न सामग्रीको प्रचार-सामग्रीझैं हुन थाले । यसो गर्दागर्दै म अर्कै झरना हुन पुगें ।

यो त आधुनिक जीवनको अनिवार्य शैली हो, यसमा के आश्चर्य भयो र ?

आश्चर्य आफूलाई बिर्सनुमा छ । अरूका लागि बाँच्नु, अरूका लागि गर्नुमा छ । अरूका लागि खुशी हुनुपर्ने, आफूलाई हाँस्न मन नलागे पनि हाँस्नुपर्ने, गर्न मन नलागेको काम पनि गर्नुपर्ने । यो बाध्यताको जीवन हो । मलाई लाग्छ, ग्यामरस दुनियाँमा धेरैजसो व्यक्ति आफूलाई बिर्सेर अरूकै लागि बाँचिरहेका छन् ।

यसको अर्थ सबैजसो कलाकारले जीवन बिर्सिरहेका छन् ?

म अरूको कुरा भन्न सक्दिनँ । यसो भन्न्ो अधिकार मलाई छैन । म मेरो कुरा गर्न सक्छु । म सांसारिक चमकमा पूर्ण रूपमा होमिएकी रहेछु । म चुरोट खान्थें । वाइन पिउँथें । चाहिने -नचाहिने साथी बनाउँथें । म यति महत्त्वकांक्षी भएछु, समय छँटदै मैले र्फकनुपथ्र्यो । अहिले प्रयास गरिरहेकी छु ।

परम्परागत जीवनशैलीप्रति कसरी वितृष्णा उत्पन्न भयो ?

जब म मुम्बई गएँ, त्यहाँ गर्नुपर्ने विभिन्न किसिमका स्ट्रगलले मलाई जीवनको वास्तविकताबोध गरायो । मानिस यस्तो भाग दौडमा छन्, जसले काम त दिलाउला, मनमा खुसी दिन सक्दैन । मानिसहरू केका लागि संघर्ष गरिरहेका छन् भन्ने सोच्दासोच्दै म झसङ्ग भएँ । ओहो, म पनि त त्यही गरिरहेकी छु । त्यसपछि मैले तुरुन्तै मुम्बई छाड्ने निर्णय गरें ।

मानिसहरू त काम नपाएपछि प|mस्टेड भएर मुम्बई छाडेको आरोप लगाउँछन् नि ?

केही हदसम्म त्यो सत्य हो । कारण म पूर्वमिस नेपाल, नेपालकी स्थापित कलाकार त्यहाँ जस्तो पायो त्यस्तो काम गर्ने कुरा आएन । 'लभ इन नेपाल' पछि मलाई ठूला चलचित्रमा त्यस्तै कामको अफर आउन थाल्यो । यद्यपि म्युजिक भिडियो तथा विज्ञापनबाट प्राप्त हुने पैसाले जीवन राम्रैसँग चलाउन सकिन्थ्यो । कामै नपाएर प|mस्टेड हुने अवस्था थ्ािएन । जुन दिन मलाई यो संघर्षको अर्थ छैन भन्ने लाग्यो, त्यसै दिन नेपाल र्फकने निर्णय गरे । नेपाल फर्किएपछि जीवन बुझ्न ध्यान गर्न थालें । आफ्ना कुलतहरू त्याग्न थालें । अहिले जीवन सही ठाउँमा आउँदैछ भन्ने लाग्छ ।

जाँड, रक्सी छाड्नुभयो ?

छाडें, ध्यान गर्न थालेपछि मलाई जति पनि गलत काम हुन् भन्ने लाग्यो, ती छाड्दै गएँ । मैले चुरोट पनि छाडें । यद्यपि म चेनस्मोकर थिइनँ । मासु पनि छाडें । अझै पनि म आफ्नो जीवनलाई गलत बाटोमा लाने सबै कुरा छाड्ने प्रयासमा छु ।

तपाईंको कमजोरी के हो ?

पहिले म आफ्नो कमजोरी देखाउन चाहन्नथें । म यति महत्त्वाकांक्षी थिएँ कि आफ्नो कमजोरी लुकाउनुमा गर्व गर्थें । अहिले त्यसलाई सच्याउने प्रयासमा छु ।

तपाईंको बेलायती युवकसँग इन्गेजमेन्ट भएको खबर सुनिएको थियो, तर विवाह भएन, किन ?

इन्गेजमेन्ट भएको खबर सत्य हो, तर ऊ अहिले युनिभर्सिटीमा अध्ययनरत छ । उसको पढाइ सकिएपछि विवाह गर्ने कुरा छ, तर म अहिले के महसुस गर्छु भने जीवन अनिश्चित छ । अहिले म जे सही मानिरहेकी छु, त्यो सही नहुन सक्छ । त्यसलै यो विवाह नहुन पनि सक्छ ।

अध्यात्मको बाटोमा हिंडेपछि तपाईंले बुझेको कुरा के हो ?

सबै कुरा परिवर्तनशील छ । केही स्थिर छैन । जुन कुरा सधैं आफ्नो साथमा हुँदैन, त्यसका लागि किन आशक्ति बढाउनु ?

तपाईं दुःख-सुखबाट माथि उठिसक्नुभएको हो ?

दुःख-सुख दुवै परिवर्तन्ाशील छन् । एकछिनअघि जुन कुराले खुसी बनाएको थियो, त्यही कुराले एकछिनपछि दुःखी बनाउँछ भने दुःखमा किन रुने, खुसी हुँदा किन मात्तिने ? यद्यपि दुःख -सुख जीवनभरि रहन्छन्, चिन्ता लिनुहुँदैन भन्नेसम्म बुझ्न थालेकी छु ।

जीवनशैलीमा केही परिवर्तन गर्नुभयो कि पहिलेजस्तै छ ?

केही फरक छ । हिजो ब्रान्डेड सामग्रीले मेरो शरीर सजिन्थ्यो । अहिले यही हुनुपर्छ भन्ने लाग्दैन । मेरो विचारमा ब्रान्ड मानिसको आवश्यकता होइन, आवश्यकताचाहिं मानिसको आवश्यकता हो ।

सादा जीवनशैली अँगालेपछि खर्च कटौती गर्न थाल्नुभएको हो ?

खर्च कटौती गर्छु भनेर लागेकी छैन । यद्यपि पहिले आफूलाई मन परेको कुरा नगरी छाड्दिनथेँ, अहिले त्यो मेरो आवश्यकता हो कि होइन, सोच्छु ।

कलाकारिता छाडिदिने ?

छाड्दिनँ, मनपर्ने मानिसले राम्रो काम ल्याए भने गर्छु । कलाकार भन्दैमा सबै काम गर्ने पक्षमा भने छैन ।

Twenty-three-year-old Nepalese actress and model Namrata Shrestha is at the center of a huge controversy after her sex tape was leaked to the public. The most controversial aspect of this scandal, however, might be be the fact that Shrestha has shrugged the whole thing off instead of acting ashamed and apologetic.
The video co-starred Chris Sutula, aka “DJ Tantrik,” who happens to be married.

Some members of the Nepalese press believe Shrestha’s attitude towards her video reflects a change in Nepalese society and attitudes towards sex:

Parallels are being drawn between it and the Shrisha Karki scandal that erupted in 2002, creating a furore, intense social condemnation and even police action…In 2002, Shrisha, another aspiring starlet, committed suicide after a weekly published a report exposing the casting couch syndrome in Nepal’s film industry which exploited Shrisha and other vulnerable newcomers like her…However, the nude photograph of Shrisha, published by the Jana Aastha weekly with its report on enforced prostitution in the Nepali film industry caused the young actress to commit suicide, triggering a backlash against the weekly…”I had to remain underground for one and a half years,” says Kishor Shrestha, the 39-year-old editor of the weekly, who in 2002 faced a warrant for his arrest due to growing social outcry.

Shrestha’s attitude towards her tape is refreshing, (despite that tape revealing an ill-advised tryst with a married person) especially at a time when so many U.S. and Latin American celebrities feel the need to act shocked and embarrassed even as their careers soar after their involvement in a sex tape. Much of the American public’s reactions to these videos include a healthy dose of skepticism, especially when stars’ sexual exploits are leaked just as they are about to promote a new movie or reality series (we’re looking at you, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian), or when stars refuse to take responsibility for their involvement in a sex tape, a la Noelia, yet continue to discuss them, over and over and over, with the press.

Shrestha’s decision to take ownership for her actions and not be ashamed of the fact that, hey, she has sex (again, albeit with someone who was not single) might work to change perceptions about female sexuality in Nepal, especially given the case of Shrisha Karki, which revealed that women in the entertainment industry were victims of sexual exploitation rather than the keepers of their own sexuality.

People have sex. Women have sex. Sometimes, women have sex on tape. Yes, it is invasive and possibly embarrassing when evidence of this is shown to strangers, but that doesn’t make the fact that a woman had and enjoyed sex something shameful. Even if she might want to stick to taping herself with unmarried men in the future.

Tim Paine all series has looked boring with the intermittent good shot that made you sit up and wonder – what a strange character. There are players like Ian Bell, who might have a poor strike rate and still look interesting. Paine obviously doesn’t fit in this category cos he almost retreats into himself after pulling out a super shot. While his keeping is definitely better than Haddin (who has been on the improve), even with this hundred, it doesn’t seem likely that he would take over from Haddin (when back fit) at the top – simply because his (current) game while good in setting a total, might come unstuck in a run-chase. So, interesting selectorial decisions ahead for Australia – it’s been a while since they had that luxury.

England must be wondering why they signed up for a 7 match series. Bopara during his short stint with Mohali in the IPL proved he can be a clean hitter – he might as well try that, cos his current role’s just not working.

Preplay: The series is currently 5-0 to Australia and is reminiscent of the 5-0 loss to India in 2008. Wright remains unsure for England, but at least their batting was better in the 5th ODI despite the loss.

Maoists want to change national flag

KATHMANDU, Sep 16 - A fresh dispute over the national flag has erupted between the UCPN (Maoist) and the other parties.
The main opposition Maoist party has been calling for the provision of a new model of national flag that should contain stars equal in numbers to the number of federal units after the restructuring of the state.

The flag row surfaced at the sub-committee formed by the Constituent Assembly (CA).
At the meeting, the UCPN (Maoist), the Rastriya Janamorcha, and the Dalit Janajati Party demanded that the country’s flag should be changed after the state restructuring.

However, the Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML, and the Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party have asserted that it is not necessary to change the national flag as it gives our national identity.
Nepal's current flag is the only national flag that is not rectangular.

Dashain festival begins

KATHMANDU, Sep 19 - The most auspicious festival of Hindus in Nepal Dashain has begun on Saturday.
People across the country are celebrating the first day of Dashain, Ghatasthapana, with great rejoice.
On Ghatasthapana, which literally means establishing pot, a kalash, holy water vessel, symbolising Goddess Durga is placed in the prayer room. The kalash is filled with holy water and covered with cow dung in which seeds are sown. The seeds will grow to long yellow grass called Jamara. It is offered along with Tika during the last five days of Dashain.
Dashain generally lasts for about fifteen days starting the bright lunar fortnight and ends on the day of the full moon. It marks the triumph of good over the evil.
According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Durga slayed the demon Mahisasur who terrorised the people. The first nine days signify the battle between Goddess Durga and Mahisasur. The tenth day is the day when Mahisasur was slain and the last five days signify the celebration of the victory.--KANTIPUR DAILY NEWS

How do you count eight packs? The question plagues you when you first come at Aamir Khan in his new movie. His rippling musculature has been all the focus, through the past month, in print, in TV, in hoardings. That, and the buzz cut, with deep scars running through, showing the scalp. This is an Aamir we haven't seen before—fronting a frame filling physique, flaunting matter over mind.

If you had 15 minutes of memory, what would you cram into that terrifyingly short span? The name of your loved one, your phone number, your home? If you were a regular joe, that's exactly what you'd do, but if you are Aamir Khan in ‘Ghajini', you would bulk up your body, tattoo the name of the man you need to kill, and smear your walls with violent graffiti.

Short term memory loss means you forget, everything, within a short span of time. And the moment you get back into the zone, re-building the pieces of your life, the clock starts ticking again, for the next meltdown. It's a fascinating premise for a movie, and a few years ago, ‘Memento', made by Christopher Nolan, gave us a unique hero who suffers from short haul amnesia, while he searches for his beloved's killer.

In 2005, the Tamil ‘Ghajini', inspired by ‘Memento', catapulted the till-then-on-the-fringes lead pair of Surya and Asin into the frontlines, and turned out to be a monster hit.

Aamir Khan's first film this year, is a faithful remake of the Tamil film (with a lot of the original crew , including the director) barring a couple of twists in the climax. It has Aamir doing an out-and-out actioner after a long time (‘Sarfarosh' in 1999 was the last time he went around brandishing guns and decimating baddies). It also has him bare-chested for a lot of the running time, because he needs to display his impressively muscled frame. So is it all good?

Not really, no. The thing with doing a film like this is that you have to completely get with the flow of the film, and here Aamir is split down the middle. When he's Sanjay Singhania, the billionaire boy friend of wannabe celeb Kalpana (Asin), pretending to be a broke model himself, to insinuate himself into her good books, he's just fine.

The sequence in which he first sees her help a bunch of disabled kids and loses his iron-clad heart to her, is a winner. So are a few others: how many impossibly wealthy men carry ‘chutta' to give the ‘pani puri wala'? He flips him his platinum card, and we crack a smile, as we are meant to.

And then the transformation from smooth urbane tycoon, to the damaged violent guy happens, and the film starts to stutter. Not because Aamir doesn't try hard. He goes at this one with just as much effort as he does in his others, but he doesn't fill out this part with as much conviction. It's all his fault--- he shouldn't have done films like ‘Rang De Basanti' and ‘Taare Zameen Par', in which he coasted on his cerebral appeal. He just doesn't look the part of a man who can pulp other humans with his bare hands, despite the wild grimaces and the angry howls.

The maximum fun is had by Asin, nicely curved and rounded, very far from unreal size zeroes, making her Hindi cinema debut. She plays pretty much the same role as she did in the original-- loud, warm, emotional, and is the best part of the movie, but even she can't liven up the pallid songs-and-dances. Third lead Jiah Khan, the medical student who studies the amnesiac and ends up first hindering then helping him, is a total loss-- she has to speak Hindi and do an item number, and both are beyond her. The villain (Pradeep Rawat) looks like he's a bit part stretched into something he can't quite handle: is he the only one they could find?

Too long, at three hours and some. Too violent. The bad guy goes around wielding a rusted iron jack and bashing peoples' heads in. And so not Aamir: ‘Ghajini' is engaging, only intermittently. Can we please have our old Aamir, the actor-star who's taught present-day mainstream Bollywood to think, back again?

भाद्र ३० - केही समययता राष्ट्रिय राजनीति असमझदारी, मुठभेड र अन्योलतर्फ हुत्तिदै गएको छ । सत्ता र विपक्षबीच हुनुपर्ने न्यूनतम शिष्टता र हार्दिकतासमेत ह्रासोन्मुख देखिन्छ । खासगरी माओवादीले सरकारविरुद्ध गरिरहेको आन्दोलन चर्काउँदै जाँदा राजनीतिक तनाव बढेको हो । उनीहरूले प्रधानमन्त्री र मन्त्रीहरूको कार्यक्रम बहिष्कार तथा विरोध प्रदर्शन गर्ने क्रममा कालोझन्डा देखाउने मात्र नभई ढुंगामुढा र अवरोध सिर्जना गर्ने उग्रतासमेत देखाउन थालेका छन् । सोमबार विराटनगरमा प्रधानमन्त्री माधवकुमार नेपालको पूर्वनिर्धारित कार्यक्रममा हिंसक घेराउ गरिएपछि प्रहरीले लाठी र अश्रुग्याससमेत प्रहार गर्नुपर्‍यो । सोमबारै उपप्रधानमन्त्री विजयकुमार गच्छदारले काठमाडौंमा र ऊर्जामन्त्री प्रकाशशरण महतले नुवाकोटमा अवरोध र ढुंगामुढाको सामना गर्नुपर्‍यो । केही दिनयता अन्य मन्त्रीले पनि लगातार यस्तै व्यवहार भोग्नुपरिरहेको छ । सरकारविरुद्ध शान्तिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शन गर्ने लोकतान्त्रिक अधिकार जो कोहीलाई हुन्छ तर विरोधका नाममा हूलहुज्जत र बलप्रयोग गर्न पाइँदैन भन्ने कुरा माओवादी नेताहरूले बुझ्नुपर्छ र यस्ता गतिविधि तत्काल रोक्नुपर्छ । सरकारले पनि माओवादी गतिविधि नियन्त्रण गर्ने नाममा अत्यधिक बल प्रयोग गर्ने र स्थितिलाई तनावपूर्ण बनाउने गल्ती गर्नु हुन्न ।
माओवादीले तत्कालीन प्रधानसेनापतिलाई पदमुक्त गर्ने आफ्नो सरकारको निर्णय राष्ट्रपतिले उल्टाएपछि नागरिक सर्वोच्चता कायम गरिनुपर्ने मागका साथ राष्ट्रपतिको उक्त कदमविरुद्ध आन्दोलन गरिरहेको छ । आन्दोलनको क्रमसँगै पक्ष-विपक्षका प्रमुख नेताहरूबीच वाकयुद्ध चर्केको छ जो प्रहरी, प्रदर्शनकारी भिडन्तभन्दा खतरनाक छ । प्रधानमन्त्री नेपालदेखि माओवादी अध्यक्ष पुष्पकमल दाहालसम्मका मुख्य नेताहरू एक-अर्काविरुद्ध व्यक्तिगत गालीगलौज र तल्लोस्तरका टीका-टिप्पणीमा उत्रेका छन् । यसले उनीहरूमा अविश्वास बढाउँदै लगेको छ जसले राजनीतिक सहमतिको सम्भावनालाई झन्-झन् टाढा पुर्‍याउने जोखिम छ । बिर्सनु हुन्न, गणतन्त्र, अन्तरिम संविधान, शान्ति प्रक्रियालगायत हाम्रा पछिल्ला राजनीतिक उपलब्धिहरू सहमतीय आधारमा सम्भव
भएका हुन् । अहिलेको प्रमुख राष्ट्रिय कार्यसूची बन्न पुगेको नयाँ संविधान निर्माण पनि प्रमुख दलहरूबीच न्यूनतम सहमति हुनसक्ने वा नसक्ने कुरामा निर्भर छ । त्यसैले एक सीमाभन्दा बढी अविश्वास उत्पन्न भएमा राष्ट्रिय जोखिम निम्तिन सक्छ । यो वास्तविकतालाई मुख्य दल र त्यसका प्रमुख नेताहरूले आत्मसात गर्नुपर्छ ।
अहिले मुलुकका अगुवा नेताहरूबीच मात्र होइन ती नेताहरूका पार्टीसमेत आन्तरिक द्वन्द्व र असमझदारीको चपेटामा परेका छन् । मुख्य सत्तारूढ दल एमालेमा अध्यक्ष झलनाथ खनाल र वरिष्ठ नेताद्वय प्रधानमन्त्री नेपाल, केपी शर्मा ओली पक्षधरबीच सार्वजनिक आरोप, प्रत्यारोप जारी छ । कांग्रेसमा सभापति गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालाको पुत्रीमोह खुलेरै प्रकट भएपछि उनको दशकौं पुरानो प्राधिकार पहिलोपटक संकटमा परेको छ । माओवादीभित्रको गुटगत गतिविधि हाललाई रोकिएको छ तर त्यसले स्थायी रोगका रूपमा जरा गाढिसकेको आभास मिल्छ । यस्तो अवस्थामा पार्टी-पार्टी र नेता-नेताबीच व्यक्तिगत कटुता र शत्रुता सिर्जना हुनु मुलुकको हितमा छैन ।
यसअघि शान्ति प्रक्रियाका प्रमुख दुई पात्र गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइराला र पुष्पकमल दाहालले पालैपालो मुलुकको बागडोर सम्हाल्ने अवसर पाएका थिए । जनआन्दोलन-२ पछि तेस्रो प्रधानमन्त्रीको जिम्मेवारी माधवकुमार नेपालले पाएका छन्, जो आफैं शान्ति प्रक्रियाका अगुवा सहजकर्ता हुन् । शान्ति प्रक्रियाको संवेदनशीलता र यसको असफलताबाट उत्पन्न हुनसक्ने राष्ट्रिय जोखिमको मूल्य उनले सम्भवतः राम्रैसँग बुझेका छन् । त्यसैले वर्तमान टकरावलाई मत्थर पार्न राज्यको कार्यकारीका रूपमा माओवादीलगायत सबै असन्तुष्ट पक्षलाई राजनीतिक संवाद र सहमतिको मार्गमा ल्याउन उनले तत्काल अग्रसरता लिन सक्नुपर्छ ।-सम्पादकीय

चार रुपैयाँ चोर्दा ज्यानै लिए

काठमाडौं, भाद्र ३० - चंगा किन्न चार रुपैयाँ चोरेकै कारण राजधानीको कपनमा एक बालकले ज्यान गुमाएका छन् । चोरी अभियोगमा घरबेटीबाट कुटिएका आठ वषर्ीय अभिषेक गुरुङ शनिबार आफ्नै कोठाको झ्यालमा झुन्डिएको अवस्थामा मृत फेला परेका हुन् ।
आफ्नो पसलबाट रकम चोरेको आरोपमा कपन १ स्थित २३ वषर्ीय ईश्वर केसीका भाइ १८ वषर्ीय किशोरले शनिबार अभिषेकलाई कुटपिट गरेका थिए । बौद्ध प्रहरी वृत्तका अनुसार सिन्धुपाल्चोक हैबुङ २ घर भएका ती बालक आमा मीना र भाइ अमितसँगै ईश्वरको घरमा डेरा गरी बस्दै आएका थिए ।
आमा मीनाले छोराहरूलाई खाना खुवाएर काममा गएको बेला घटना भएको आफन्तले जनाएका छन् । मीना हस्तकलाको काम गर्छिन् । अभिषेकका पिता ऋषिराम वैदेशिक रोजगारका क्रममा ओमानमा छन् ।
'दाइले घरबेटीको चोरेको रकमले चंगा किनेर ल्याउनुभयो,' घटनाका एक मात्र साक्षी छ वषर्ीय भाइ अमितले प्रहरी र आफन्तलाई भने, 'घरबेटीले म र दाइ अभिषेकलाई कुट्यो, दाइ बोल्न छाडेपछि कोठाभित्र लगेर झ्यालमा झुन्ड्याइदियो ।' घटनाको निष्पक्ष छानबिन र दोषीलाई कडा कारबाही माग गर्दै पीडित परिवार र स्थानीयवासीलगायत झन्डै दुई सय जनाले सोमबार बिहानदेखि साँझसम्म वृत्तमा धर्ना दिए । पीडित पक्षको आग्रहमा भाइ अमितलाई समेत राखेर एक छानबिन कमिटी गठन गरिएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
मृतकका मामा दीपक गुरुङका अनुसार कुटपिटपछि 'आफूलाई चोखो देखाउन' शवको बारेमा ईश्वर र भाइ किशोरले उल्टै स्थानीयवासीलाई खबर गरेका थिए । 'कुट्दा खेरी बेस्सरी चोट लागेर बालकको ज्यान गयो,' दीपकले भने, 'उनीहरूले आफूलाई बचाउन र आत्महत्या देखाउन बालकलाई झुन्ड्याएको देखियो ।'
घरबेटी दुवै दाजुभाइलाई थुनामा राखेर अनुसन्धान भइरहेको बौद्ध प्रहरी वृत्तका डीएसपी गोविन्दराम परियारले बताए । उनले घटनाको निष्पक्ष छानबिन गरेर दोषीलाई कडा कारबाही गरिने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गरे । पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्टमा हत्याको कारण खुल्न सकेको छैन । पीडित पक्षले पुनः पोष्टमार्टम माग गरेका छन् ।
हत्याको आरोप लागेका किशोरले आफूले हत्या नगरेको बताएका छन् । 'पैसा चोरेपछि एक झापड हानेको हो, त्यसपछि ऊ रुँदै कोठातिर गयो,' उनले प्रहरी बयानमा भनेका छन्, 'मैले उसलाई मारेको होइन ।' डीएसपी परियारले अनुसन्धानको निष्कर्षपछि मात्र केही भन्न सकिने बताए । अभिषेक कपन नीलोपुलस्थित ब्रेनल्यान्ड एकेडेमीमा कक्षा २ मा अध्ययनरत थिए ।

That has gradually urged her to kick-start with her official website…

On the pars, the cherubic Katrina – most googled and searched Bollywood actress on internet has already started making prior arrangements for the launch. It has been revealed straight from her shoulders that the website would be launched by end of this year. Indeed, Katrina Kaif has planned for a special photo shoot for offering exclusive galleries to fans logging to her official website. The only drawback would be that Katrina has no plans about letting know them about her day-to-day schedule.

Priyanka gets married on stage

It was a jaw dropping moment interlaced with great amusement, on sets of ‘Saregamapa Little Stars’, the popular musical competition on Zee TV.

Swarit Nigam, a 10 year contestant, aired his wish to marry our Desi Gal. A sportive Priyanka, candidly said to the kid that if he sings well she would really accept his proposal. The cute fellow sang to her the title song of ‘Mujse Shaadi Karogi’ and handed out to her a rose. What happened next was a hilarious drama that sent the audience and others on sets into laughing ruptures.

Priyanka Chopra went on stage and put a garland on the kid. While the actress covered her face shying like a bride, Swarit was cheered and raised up by his fellow contestants and show kid-comperes. Priyanka even carried her young ‘Pathi Parmeshwar’ and walked the ramp to take him to home. Swarit’s parents were visibly elated and cheering. But the actress put him down saying he has a competition to win there, so she would not take him for the time being. However, she on lighter tone said the young hubby not to forget her now that he is married to her.

Besides Priyanka, Hurman Baweja was the other quest on the show. Both the actors were on the show to promote their forthcoming movie, ‘What’s Your Rashee?’

झापा जिल्ला फुटबल संघका अध्यक्ष्ा जेके गुरुङ मैत्रीपूर्ण फुटबललाई कोष निर्माणको अर्को खुडकलो मान्छन् । 'कुनै स्थितिमा हामीसँग घाइते खेलाडीका लागि फस्ट एडको उपचार सामग्री पनि हुन्न । यस्तोमा कोष खडा गरेर सबै झापाली फुटबल खेलाडीलाई सहयोग गर्नु हाम्रो उद्देश्य हो,' गुरुङले भने, 'यो उपकारी काममा सबै क्ष्ाेत्रको सहयोग रहनेछ ।'
थ्री-स्टार अध्यक्ष ललितकृष्ण श्रेष्ठ पनि मैत्रीपूर्ण खेलका लागि उत्साहित छन् । 'राम्रो कामका लागि सहयोग गर्न पाएकोमा खुसी छौं । यो अवसरले झापाली फुटबलप्रेमीलाई थ्री-स्टार क्लब, यसका खेलाडी र यसको शैलीबारे पनि जानकारी पाउने अवसर जुटाएको छ ।'
